Building Advocacy Capacity

A diverse group of young nonprofit leaders sit in in a seminar

In partnership with the Advocacy Institute, in 2020 Engage New York supported the pilot of virtual training for 32 nonprofit leaders from nearly every region of the State to participate in a six-part virtual webinar to learn about how to launch and lead effective advocacy campaigns. In addition to building the capacity of individual organizations, our goal was to build a multi-region cohort of leaders that could work together on various advocacy campaigns. The evaluation from this pilot has influenced our Racial Equity Pooled Fund priorities.
